Canada's main of defence staff announced this week that the Canadian government needs new drones and he wants those drones to be equipped - an upgrade that doesn't come without its show of controversy.

A Wal-Mart distribution center could have hundreds of trailers waiting around in its backyard, and a drone could potentially be utilized to quickly account for what each one is holding. This last weekend we had Dave and Scott who got an effective drone mission. These two folks hiked for over 12 hours on Saturday giving no log unturned. They required many photos along the way for our exclusive searchers to scan for possible signs. They also came across a few rattlesnakes and bullsnakes, but those slithering snakes didn't deter Dave and Scott from doing their objective to help find Randy. Kudos to them!
DARPA says that the UAV runs on the commercial DJI Flamewheel equipped with a 3DR Pixhawk autopilot for the airframe, among other adornments. Perhaps most impressive is that this unit is able to hit quickness even taking sonar, inertia receptors and an HD camera on such a tiny framework. Oh, and the demonstration trip in the video below was completely autonomous. That's right, zero pilots were involved with getting the drone about the stacks of boxes and whatnot here.
