I have just received this shape and put together it, here are my first impressions: - An extremely well made design, no obvious flaws in developing. (I couldn't find any yet!) - It goes together easily. Utilize the pictures on Hobbyking to work it out, I started out with the 'foot' parts then the centre, then finally I joined up with it all together with the tubing. - It appears like a work of art when assembled, it seems a shame to load this with cables and motors! - I purchased the suggested 2730 engine and Plush 12A ESC. The inter-hole distance on the electric motor mount seems just a bit small for the openings on the shape but I don't believe its impossible. I haven't yet installed the motors because the motor shaft protrudes marginally from underneath so I should buy some spacers/washers. - The ESC looks very well made. Overall, I think it appears like a great structure and I can't wait to get it hovering!

this is a crock. dont get me wrong, i really like my phantom and ive loved learning to really take a flight it. its an excellent quadrotor for the purchase price and features. but you didnt mention any of the performance features that the 3dr solo has. the orbit and wire cam ability alone on the single smokes a phantom all day. im not declaring its difficult to figure out how to fly something similar to a phantom and film with it, because it has a flight training sim built into the app. but you may take a solo out of the box and accomplish great aerial images as an entire amateur. this is something you should not do with a phantom, period. awarded, you are limited to gopros (for the present time) with the solo, but who cares? the only real difference between a solo and the others is modularity". laughable, but this is an enormous difference. this article is biased crap. log off the dji bandwagon.
