Canada's key of defence staff released this week that the Canadian military needs new drones and he would like those drones to be armed - an upgrade that doesn't come without its share of controversy.

DJI's Phantom 2 Eyesight+ can be an updated version of the Phantom 2 Eyesight. It's a GPS-directed four-rotor quadcopter-more properly, it's the best Quadcopter for beginners drone, since it is with the capacity of semi-autonomous flight. In fact, other drones in the Phantom 2 family can operate completely on preprogrammed waypoints without any immediate control (a ability which DJI tells us the Eye-sight+ will gain within a few weeks with a software upgrade).

It comes as no real surprise that LAPD was given these drones. Actually, this isn't the first time LAPD has talked about drones. Previously in Feb LAPD is at Israel during their Big Data" convention looking at drones called Hovermast". Hovermast" drones can be used for spying and even group control. I will try to keep this list modified monthly, as the industry is developing extremely fast, and new amazing personal and commercial drones on the market keep popping up. In the FAA software, Wal-Mart said it wished to test drones when planning on taking stock of trailers and other items in the car parking lot of a warehouse using digital tagging and other methods. A Wal-Mart circulation center can have hundreds of trailers waiting in its backyard, and a drone could potentially be utilized to quickly take into account what each is holding. This last weekend we had Dave and Scott who acquired a successful drone mission. These two men hiked for over 12 time on Saturday departing no log unturned. They got many photos on the way for our virtual searchers to check for possible clues. They also encountered a few rattlesnakes and bullsnakes, but those slithering snakes didn't deter Dave and Scott from doing their quest to help find Randy. Kudos to them!

DARPA says that the UAV uses a commercial DJI Flamewheel built in with a 3DR Pixhawk autopilot for the airframe, among other adornments. Perhaps most impressive is that unit is able to hit velocity even taking sonar, inertia detectors and an HD camera on such a small structure. Oh, and the demonstration trip in the video below was entirely autonomous. That is right, zero pilots were involved in getting the drone around the stacks of bins and whatnot here.
