I've experience in RC planes and RC robot automobiles and now also in building RC helicopters, and I've a lot of useful information to share, as I have seen several helicopters with engines and electric motors with some of my friends who have built some for their own for fun. I'd like to encourage new RC aficionados to utilize their RC building skills, as I feel that they are not very difficult to create and also, there is a lot of creative imagination and interest included.
I loved your article and you simply made some good points. The level of privacy issue regarding flying video cameras is something that has many conflicting views within me. What's privacy? So how exactly does a quadcopter flying over my property with a camera working intrude on my personal privacy? Too many questions to answer in this area but I will say that if an RC vehicle is being used in in any manner to spy or conduct surveillance then I would feel this is a privacy violation but if indeed they just journey over the home for fun and happen to have a camera running then this isn't really an issue for me personally. The tricky part is knowing and regulating the difference between a violation and an take action to intentionally video somebody unknowingly.
