this is a crock. dont misunderstand me, i love my phantom and ive loved understanding how to really travel it. its a fantastic quadrotor for the purchase price and features. but you didnt mention any of the performance features that the 3dr solo has. the orbit and cable cam ability only on the solo smokes a phantom all day long. im not saying its difficult to figure out how to fly something like a phantom and film with it, because it has a airline flight training sim built into the app. but you may take a solo out of the box and accomplish great aerial pictures as a full amateur. this is something you should not do with a phantom, period. granted, you are limited to gopros (for the present time) with the solo, but who cares? the one difference between a single and the others is modularity". laughable, but this is a HUGE difference. this article is biased crap. get off the dji bandwagon.
