The balance bar on the top needs to be completely free to go along (and take the rotors with it) as this is actually the 'gyro' which makes the control easier and prevents it soaring in drunken circles. I ran mine into a couch and am currently surviving on a split pin created out of the paperclip, melted in to the plastic portion of the top rotors and glued in place.
