this is a crock. dont misunderstand me, i love my phantom and ive treasured learning to really take a flight it. its a fantastic quadrotor for the purchase price and features. but you didnt mention any of the performance features that the 3dr solo has. the orbit and wire cam ability only on the solo smokes a phantom all day long. im not expressing its difficult to learn to fly something like a phantom and film with it, because it has a trip training sim built into the app. but you can take a solo from the box and pull off great aerial photographs as a full beginner. this is something you should not do with a phantom, period. granted, you are limited to gopros (for the present time) with the solo, but who cares? the only real difference between a single and others is modularity". laughable, but this is a HUGE difference. this article is biased crap. get off the dji bandwagon.
