I am really enjoying flying drones lately. I thought my kid might enjoy it but it turns out I acquired the bug. However, after a few test flights I discovered a valuable lesson or two.

This (the trip controller) greatly will depend on your tastes; Arduino centered such as MultiWii works for most people but it requires some tinkering to get working and is excellent from then on. KK boards have become cheap, gyro only, and rather typical for newcomers. SM32 based FCs are better and work a little better appropriately and are MultiWii suitable such as TimeCop's Free Airline flight board. But, for many people the additional control electricity of STM32 doesn't really make a difference. Then you have the NAZA and Wookong which will be the best drone - take a look at the site here - for little set up required, besides RTF, of course.

While Follow Me offered us free will over aiming the camera even as we satisfied, the Chroma's Tracking Mode provided us the chance to forever affix the camera on whoever was positioning the ST-10+ controller. Though we didn't require an explicit dependence on this feature, it does provide photography lovers and videographers the chance to accurately set up shots without worrying about regularly piloting the UAV itself.

some more in lighter blowing wind conditions and to test the headless soaring mode and automated return to home flying modes. I got very impressed about how the JJRC H5C RC Quadcopter treated in the calmer conditions with great hovering and amazing flips it was a pleasure to journey. It was very good quicker than I expected it to be and both the headless flying function and automatic return to home worked a delicacy. Syma are soon to be launching a headless mode version of these X5C Explorers the Syma X5SC RC Quadcopter FOLLOW THIS LINK with a headless flying mode. This is likely to retail at almost $20 more than the H5C Explorers and I'm unsure concerning whether it has an automatic go back to home button. I really like the Syma X5C Explorers as I was the first style of this size I had fashioned but for value for money the JJRC H5C  RC Quadcopter appears untouchable.

If you're enthusiastic about a slightly bigger quad copter with a little more capability, check out the Hubsan X4 quad copter. An rc drone makes its goes as a result of an electronic flight controller responding to your stay inputs. Very essentially speaking, the airline flight controller adjusts the rate of the appropriate motors accordingly, and the resulting changes of thrust moves the drone in the required direction.

Update 06/09/12 - Since I formerly wrote this, shape prices have come down considerably. The DJI F450 and the Q450 from HobbyKing are incredibly low priced, durable frames that make great starter structures. Like the F450, HobbyKing also sells an improved version of the Q450 which has a built-in PCB , so a wiring harness is not needed. These frames are so cheap, it hardly makes since to try and build your own if you don't just like to tinker. Also, I've since purchased the VC-450 from HoverThings. It really is my favorite framework. However, it has been discontinued. It was replaced by an upgraded shape called the HT-450 which is a little more expensive.
