I haven't used it in some time, but if I remember appropriately, you have to place it on the floor, before you facing away, own it run on, but throttled completely down so the motors are off. Then hold one of the make keys for 5 or 10 mere seconds (I cannot remember which). It'll make a beep, but I believe you have to hold back for this to beep again… maybe. And it's in headless method.

Most people were planning on a drone, but GoPro actually developed Karma as a complete stabilization system. That is why there's a teaser video taken in a library that would have been near-impossible with just a quadcopter. Karma isn't only about getting video cameras up in the sky - it's about bettering self-shot video for everybody. A much bigger strategy than simply adding a radio-controlled item to the line up. One that will pay dividends for GoPro's image every time a silky-smooth video gets published to the internet.

That's why I'm over a farm in north California encircled, by mud, tractors and a lone porta-potty. A team of GoPro employees is working under gazebos, fiddling with wires poking out of stripped-down prototypes. Concentrated encounters stare into notebooks as they spew out technological readouts. Four or five quadcopters are traveling in the overcast sky at any one time, often more. That's where Karma is being refined and - practically - field-tested ahead of its public reveal.
